Thumbing Through Quilting Arts

Quilting Arts arrived the other day and I took time to look it over today. There is some beautiful work in this issue. A couple of things caught my eye. I liked Laura Wasilowski's article on hand stitching. I have really got to put a little quiltlet together and see if I can get back into it. I always have visions of getting one of those Outer Banks rentals and sitting on the deck overlooking the Atlantic and stitching away. :) Don't think I'll be going there but I can do some stitching here!

In My Diet Shell

I guess I have been under a shell lately when it comes to diets. Since I had my weight loss surgery I don't give diets much thought. All of a sudden I am noticing all kinds of diets around. There's the Special K diet, the Cookie Diet (sounds yummy), the 4 Day Diet, all sorts of diets that will deliver directly to your door and more diet pills. I'm glad I don't have to try and choose among them.

Etta Is Getting Postal

Have you heard the fuss about Etta James and Beyonce? It seems Etta is all hot under the collar about Beyonce singing "At Last" during the inauguration festivities. She is the one who made the song famous and said as much at a concert. She even said that Beyonce was going to get her ass whupped. LOL I can understand her feeling put out by the whole things, but somehow I think Beyonce can hold her own if Etta decides to open a can of whup ass on her. LOL
