Why Not New Jersey?

My husband got a call from one of our neighbors this morning. They own the house right next to us as a vacation home. We keep an eye on the house for them since they do not get down here very often. They live full time all the way up in New Jersey.

At first I wondered why the live in New Jersey, with his business they can live anywhere they want to. But after talking to them I realized that it is ideal for them. He travels a lot for business so he needs a great airport. They have access to great private schools for the kids. The medical facilities are some of the best around and they have a special needs child. They told me that it is the second wealthiest state in the nation. That part makes sense when you think about its proximity to New York City and Philadelphia.

Eric was telling my husband that Real Estate New Jersey is picking up. Sales have increased close to four percent. There is a large population there and people always need a place to live. New Jersey has a lot of people who can't or don't want to live in New York City. Compared to the prices there New Jersey is a great deal.

Now I Know I'm Old

I realized today just how out of it I am. Guess I am officially an old fart. I was looking at Google trends this morning and one of the top 10 was "tramp stamp". I honestly had no clue what it was or why people would be looking for it.

It seems that Jessica Alba was caught in a photo showing her tramp stamp. Do you know what it is? LOL It's a tattoo at the base of the spine. I had no idea that's what they were called. I am officially old. :)

It's Going To Change

The housing market has been in the toilet for a while. It is something that we watch closely since my husband spent his life building houses. I think that some people need to relax a little and look at the big picture. It will change, things will get better. We were there for the condo bust in south Florida in the early 90's. And in a couple of years it went from giving them away to prices that were higher than anyone could imagine.

It is going to happen this time too. Right now I have a dear friend who wants a new house. They live in Arizona. She called to see what we thought and my advise was to buy.

She is considering buying from Cachet Homes. They build semi custom luxury homes. I have heard of them before and they have a great reputation. If she is looking at Phoenix New Homes they are the ones to go with. Cachet Homes are rated among the top 5 small builders in the area. They will work with her to make sure that the house has everything that she wants. I know that's important to her. Personally, I think it the idea time for them to buy the house of their dreams.

Under the Microscope

I was outraged by the octo mom from the beginning. I still am. What she did is not fair to the children she already had and the ones she gave birth to. But some of the websites really have her under a microscope. I was just on the TMZ site and they are tracking her every move. They have pictures of her at the bank, then shopping, even walking with her kids. They even know how much she spent at the cosmetics counter. The latest they have is copies of the birth certificates for all of her kids. I think it's time to leave her alone.
