Speaking of the Beach
Talking about the tourists arriving made me think about my bathing suit situation. Ugh. I'd like to hit the beach this year but there are things going on that even the best diet pills can't cure. I never realized all of the things that getting older can do to your body. Who knew about wrinkled knees and other unmentionable things? I'm kind of wishing fashion would go back to those bathing suits they used to wear in the 20's with sleeves and legs down to your knees.
They're Back
The tourists seem to be arriving in droves. Everywhere I go is to be crowded. I made the mistake of trying to go to the supermarket Sunday. I could hardly find a parking space for all of the out of town cars. I tell myself it's a good things. The local economy as well as the makers of swimsuits, tanning lotion and diet pills like Apidexin all make money when people go to the beach. I need to get back into the habit of running errands early in the morning before they get going.
The Catch of the Day
I just read about a fisherman off Panama City Beach who's catch of the day sounds frightening. He pulled up an air to air guided missile. And it was live! What is even worse is that he kept it on his boat for 10 days and traveled back to the Clearwater area with it. Once he finally called officials, they detonated it saying it was too dangerous to transport. I don't think I'd want to go out with him if that's the way he thinks.
The Things You See
I made my usual trip to Goodwill yesterday. Clothes are half off on Mondays in our area. I started going there to find fabric to use but I soon realized that there were some great clothes there. I now have lots of cute things from Talbots and other brands.
I also enjoy looking around at everything else people donate. They have everything from packages of disposable diapers, to crutches, to smokers and grills. We were recently discussing needing a car top luggage holder. I went to Goodwill and bingo, there it was. $40 instead of $400. I love it.
